Cincinnati – Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resorts is joining with other industry partners to support the National Wildlife Federation’s 13th annual Great American Campout. This summer-long event celebrates camping as a way to connect with nature and wildlife. #GreatAmericanCampout
To help NWF achieve its goal of 150,000 pledges and to introduce families to the latest trends in camping, Jellystone Park #jellystonepark and Stone Canyon Cabins are taking a next generation “Glam-Cabin” on a six-city media tour.
According to Jim Westover, Jellystone Park’s vice president of Operations, camping comes in many different forms these days, with “glamping” among the top trends. “Today, many campers want to stay connected to their friends and families while they enjoy the great outdoors,” he said. “They also want comfortable, resort-style accommodations.”
Jellystone Park’s “Glam Cabin” features:
• Large flat panel TV, powered by a rooftop solar system
• Custom cabinets
• High-end furniture
• Stainless steel appliances
• Loft for the kids and separate retreat for adults
Starting June 16, the cabin will visit Birmingham, Alabama; Atlanta; Nashville, Tennessee; Indianapolis; and Chicago.
Jellystone Park also is participating in the Great American Campout Sweepstakes with Keystone RV and RV Trader. Everyone who pledges to camp will be entered in the contest. Prizes include a Keystone Bullet COLT RV valued at $18,625, a one-week stay at the Jellystone Park of the winner’s choice, a $500 pre-paid credit card for travel expenses and a $250 Jellystone Park gift card. Pledging is free.
The sweepstakes runs until October 16, 2017. Visit www.nwf.org/Great-American-Campout.aspx for official rules.
“While ‘glamping’ is increasingly popular, many campers still opt to enjoy the great outdoors in tents and RVs,” Westover said. “However, today’s families want to do more than just relax.” Jellystone Parks offer organized family activities and themed weekends with Yogi Bear™, Ranger Smith™ and other Jellystone Park characters. Amenities include high-speed Wi-Fi and well-appointed cabins, as well as tent and RV sites. Growing numbers of Jellystone Parks provide extensive water attractions, as well as amenities including jumping pillows, mini-golf, gem mining and sand volleyball. Many offer an array of food options, such as Nathan’s Famous hot dogs and Hunt Brothers Pizza.
