Leisure Systems Inc. will hold a Prospective Owners Workshop Sept. 16 -17 with seminars designed for people thinking of going into the campground business as well as existing campground owners who are considering joining the Jellystone Park network.
The two-day workshop will be held at the award winning North Texas Jellystone Park in Burleson, Texas, near Fort Worth.
The workshop will examine the different types of campgrounds, including destination parks, seasonal campgrounds and membership parks. It will also cover the key questions prospective campground owners need to know, such as:
— Is it better to buy an existing campground or build one?
— What type of campground should I purchase?
— How much will it cost?
— Should I consider joining a franchise to help me?
— What kind of marketing and operational support can a franchise network provide?
— What kind of ancillary revenue can be generated by being part of the Jellystone Park franchise network?
— Is this the right decision for my family?
“Our goal is to help you decide if owning a campground, any campground whether it’s a Jellystone Park or not, is right for you and your family,” said Jim Westover, vice president of operations for Leisure Systems.
Milford, Ohio-based Leisure Systems franchises 80 Jellystone Park campgrounds with more than 17,000 campsites and vacation rentals across the U.S. and Canada and plans to expand to more than 100 parks in the next five years.
Leisure Systems’ growing sales and profitability landed the Jellystone Park franchisor a spot in Entrepreneur magazine’s latest Franchise 500® listing, ranking 472 for its exceptional performance across several areas, including financial strength and stability, growth rate and brand power.
Several workshop instructors are past campground owners and have taught classes at industry conventions and ARVC’s National School of RV Park and Campground Management. They will share industry insights and provide tools for you to make an educated purchase decision. Finance and insurance company representatives will also be available to provide information about their requirements and processes.
The cost of the Prospective Owners Workshop is $350 per couple and includes two nights in a premium luxury cottage at the North Texas Jellystone Park (http://www.northtexasjellystone.com/premium-luxury-cottages/); lunch on Saturday; a campfire and social on Saturday night; and a two-hour tour of the North Texas Jellystone Park on Sunday with the park’s general manager.
“You’ll have the opportunity to interact with staff and gain insight into the hard work and outstanding rewards of campground ownership,” Westover said.
