Leisure Systems Inc., the franchisor of Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resorts, has become the first campground network to join Great Lakes Scrip, a national program that makes it easy for businesses to provide fundraising support for schools, churches and other non-profit organizations. Businesses affiliated with Great Lakes Scrip programs donate a percentage of their gift card sales to the non-profit organizations their customers select.

Lake Monroe Jellystone Park™ To Offer Two Months’ Worth Of Fall Activities And Themed Weekends
Labor Day weekend marks the transition into fall activities that continue through Oct. 30. Labor Day weekend is sold out at the Jellystone Park in Bloomington, but the campground is offering plenty of activities and themed weekends through the end of October. “We’re hoping to keep Yogi Bear’s Water Zone open for another three weeks,” said Rachael Stine, general manager of the park. “We usually keep it open until the weekend after Labor Day. But this year we hope to keep it open until the following weekend if the weather cooperates.”

Monticello Jellystone Park™ To Offer Activities Through October 10
Labor Day weekend sold out more than a month ago at the former Walnut Acres Campground, which became Iowa’s first Jellystone Park six months ago. But park owners Chip and Kim Smith plan to keep the fun family activities and themed weekends going through mid-October at the 270-site park, which is located at 22128 Highway 38 North in Monticello. “We do expect to be busier this fall, but we still have plenty of campsites and cabin accommodations available through mid-October,” Chip Smith said.

Yogi Bear Is Coming To California’s Central Valley
As far as anyone can tell, there haven’t been any Yogi Bear sightings in the Central Valley. But that’s about to change. Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Northgate Resorts has acquired a 272-site campground next to the Tower Park Marina in Lodi, which it is converting into a Jellystone Park Camp-Resort. “We’re very excited about this location,” said Zachary Bossenbroek, CEO of Northgate Resorts, a private company that owns seven other Jellystone Parks, mostly in the eastern half of the country. “Our vision is to make the campground in Lodi into a true destination resort.”

The Lake Monroe Jellystone Park Is Having Its Best Year
Labor Day weekend is sold out. But sites are still available during mid-week periods throughout the summer and fall. Business is up at the Lake Monroe Jellystone Park in Bloomington. “Business has been booming,” said General Manager Rachael Stine. The park’s cabin rentals were sold out every weekend for June and July, with availability open on weekdays. “July 4th was completely sold out and so is Labor Day weekend,” Stine said, although the park still has vacancy during the mid-week periods throughout the summer and fall.

Yogi Bear Sightings Increase In Burleson
Bear sightings can be tough to predict, even at Jellystone Park. But campers at the North Texas Jellystone Park in Burleson now have a new tool to help them increase their odds of having a Yogi Bear encounter: a text message program that alerts them on a real time basis to bear sightings anywhere in the 74-acre park. “The response has been tremendous,” said General Manager Steve Stafford, who started providing the texting program after a few guests complained that they had stayed overnight at the campground and hadn’t seen Yogi Bear or Boo Boo.

North Texas Jellystone Park Offers Police Officers Free Passes To Pirate’s Cove Waterpark
The North Texas Jellystone Park is offering police officers and their families free passes to the Pirate’s Cove water park for the remainder of the 2016 season. The free passes are available to police officers and their immediate families while they camp at the North Texas Jellystone or simply come to the waterpark for the day. “We just want to let police officers know that their services are appreciated,” said Steve Stafford, general manager of the North Texas Jellystone Park Camp Resort, which also owns and operates Pirate’s Cove.

New Laser Tag Game To Open At The Jellystone Park At Whispering Pines On Thursday, July 28
The Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines plans to open its long awaited laser tag game on Thursday, according to park co-owner Don Tardy. The laser tag course, which is just under an acre in size, can accommodate up to 20 players. It is available only to Jellystone Park guests. “We’ve had a lot of interest in this, so we’re eager to have the game up and running for our guests to enjoy,” said Tardy, who bought the campground four years ago with his wife, Jan, and her two adult children,Colt Perrin and Bree Perrin.

Green Bay Packers make surprise visit to Jellystone
WARRENS — Lynn Richmond of Ryan, Iowa, and her family came to Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park and Campground for a vacation. They got more than swimming and camping. While lounging around the pool and enjoying the sun Monday, they met members of the Green Bay Packers. “We were in the pool and someone said, ‘There’s something going on over there,’ and I saw the Packer bus and I jumped out (of the pool),” she said. As a surprise visit on the Packers’ 2016 Tailgate Tour, Packers’ president and CEO Mark Murphy, linebackers Sam Barrington and Jayrone Elliott, wide receiver Jared Abbrederis, and former Packers players Leroy Butler, Robert Brooks and Sean Jones stopped to chat with people staying at the park.
