Halloween isn’t until the end of October. But Jellystone Parks in Indiana are giving children and their families multiple opportunities to dress up and go trick or treating inside the campground during the weekends leading up to Halloween. “Our Halloween themed weekends are some of our most popular weekends of the year, so it behooves families to reserve their campsites and cabins several weeks in advance,” said Michele Wisher, vice president of marketing for Milford, Ohio-based Leisure Systems, Inc., which franchises Jellystone Parks across North America.

Halloween is still more than three months away. But Jellystone Parks in Canada are already planning family-friendly Halloween themed activities throughout the month of August. “Many families can’t wait for Halloween,” said Michele Wisher, vice president of marketing for Leisure Systems, Inc., which franchises Jellystone Parks across the U.S. and Canada. “So we help them get into the spirit with unique activities like a ‘Teen Food Fright’ and a ‘Howling at the Moon Contest.’ We also offer Halloween-themed campsite and cabin decorating contests as well as costume contests and trick or treating in the campground.”

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resorts is joining with other industry partners to support the National Wildlife Federation’s 13th annual Great American Campout. This summer-long event celebrates camping as a way to connect with nature and wildlife. #GreatAmericanCampout To help NWF achieve its goal of 150,000 pledges and to introduce families to the latest trends in camping, Jellystone Park #jellystonepark and Stone Canyon Cabins are taking a next generation “Glam-Cabin” on a six-city media tour.

Children and teens through age 18 are invited to participate in “The World’s Large Swimming Lesson,” which takes place at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 22. The free swimming lesson, hosted by the North Texas Jellystone Park, is one of 700 such events taking place around the world on the same day. The lesson is designed to teach children to swim to help prevent drowning. Last year’s event drew 40,298 students at 641 facilities in 24 countries.

Jellystone Parks Target The Family Reunion Market With Extra Large Cabins And Bunkhouses
For more than a decade, privately owned campgrounds have been increasingly adding rental cabins to accommodate people who don’t have a tent or RV. Most campground cabins sleep four to six people, either with one big bed and a couple of bunk beds for the kids or a big bed plus a loft where the kids can roll out their sleeping bags. But growing numbers of Jellystone Parks are taking the rental concept a step further by providing their guests with bunk houses and other large multi-room cabins and ranch style houses. Most of these larger units can sleep at least eight people, while many sleep 12 to 14 people.

Jellystone Park™ Adds Donkeys, Alpacas And Giant Flemish Rabbits To Its Petting Zoo
Jellystone Park is famous for its weekend activities, which range from ceramic and craft classes to digital scavenger hunts to chocolate themed weekends with chocolate pie eating contests, candy bar bingo and chocolate pudding Slip N Slides. But the Jellystone Park in Gloucester Point has another unique attraction as well: A petting zoo, which recently added donkeys, alpacas, giant Flemish rabbits and Juliana pigs, some of which have been rescued. Other petting zoo animals include miniature horses and goats.

Texas Wine Country Jellystone Completes Expansion With New RV And Tent Sites And A Snack Shack
The Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park™ has completed lots of improvements in time for the summer camping season, including 26 new RV sites, five new rental cabins and a snack shack. A splash pad will also be installed in time for Father’s Day weekend. “This park just keeps getting better and better,” said park owner Sissy Andrichyn, adding that the additional RV sites and cabin rentals are needed to accommodate the park’s growing business base.

The floods that roared through Robert last August were the worst Maurice LeBlanc Jr. and his wife, Me-Me, had ever seen at their 374-site Jellystone Park campground, which has survived numerous Hurricanes over the years, including Katrina, Gustav, Lee and Isaac. “We had water in 84 of 85 cabins,” Maurice LeBlanc said.

There are lots of improvements this year at the Jellystone Park at Coyote Ranch, including a new new laser tag field, a 10-car barrel train and a shaded pavilion by the park’s splash pad — a perfect spot to watch the kids enjoying the interactive water features. The park is also adding an escape room, which it hopes to have ready for use by late June. “This is going to be a neat attraction,” said park manager Debbie Norton. “Players will first watch a video to give them instructions and then they will go through a series of clues and puzzles to work their way out of the room.”
