• HBO Max series boosts Jellystone Park visibility

Already some of TV’s most enduring cartoon characters, Yogi Bear, Boo Boo Bear and Cindy Bear are returning to screens in an all-new series, Jellystone!, that just premiered on HBO Max. We couldn’t be more excited to see our number one ambassador and his friends back in prime time.

While most parents know Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy, their kids may not, unless they watch reruns of the original cartoons or have seen the movie that came out in 2010. Of course, once children get to a Jellystone Park, the loveable bears become their best friends. Next to Mickey and Minnie Mouse, it would be hard to find characters that are more appealing to kids and adults.

Warner Bros. Animation has reimagined the beloved characters, modernizing them for today’s family audience and introducing them to a new generation of fans. The bears now live in the town of Jellystone, but they still turn everyday activities into hilarious pandemonium.

In a way, the updates to the series mirror how our campgrounds have evolved over the years. The first Jellystone Park locations had rustic cabins, motel-style pools and just a few activities. Today, the typical Jellystone Park features glamping cabins, water slides and splash grounds, and enough activities to keep kids entertained from morning flap jacks until evening s’mores.

The Yogi Bear movie generated tremendous new interest among families, as well as new franchisees. I expect the new TV series will do the same. In fact, we’ve stocked up on extra Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy Bear plush toys. Already the biggest seller in our camp stores, we anticipate there will be a run on them.

Until you can visit a real Jellystone Park, sit back and enjoy a preview of the new series.
