Businesses affiliated with Great Lakes Scrip programs donate a percentage of their gift card sales to the non-profit organizations their customers select.
“We are the first park resort company in their portfolio,” said Jim Westover, vice president of operations for Milford, Ohio-based Leisure Systems Inc., which is donating 10 percent of its Scrip gift card sales to the schools, churches and other non-profit organizations its campers want to support.
“This is a great way for us to show our support for the non-profit organizations that our campers care about. It’s also a great way to raise brand awareness of Jellystone Parks,” Westover said, adding that the Scrip program resonates well with families.
He added that consumers purchased more than $2,000 worth of Jellystone Park gift cards during the first week Leisure Systems starting selling them through the Great Lakes Scrip website at www.shopwithscrip.com. The Great Lakes Scrip program says it has raised $500 million for approximately 30,000 non-profit organizations during the past 20 years.
